Our roots
In 2012, there was an unfortunate lack of secular programming for homeschooled teens in Northern Virginia. A small group of homeschooling parents organized a vision to create an open-minded educational space of radical inclusivity for homeschooled high schoolers in our area.
NovaScoop was established that year as a not-for-profit educational cooperative with a mission to be exceptionally inclusive. Today, we have grown into a welcoming and relaxed community of progressive and expansive thinkers. Our creative and often unconventional learning environment has become an educational home for 55-65 member families, serving between 100-120 students each semester.
